Mountain Bike routes  (download Maps)

Arran has loads of great trails for MTB's, here's 4 mapped routes to get you going, based on the Forestry Commission's colour coding, the easier 'blue' trails are the Castle route - 10km - and Glencloy loop - 10km - with a harder and more technical 'red' Clauchlands route - 17km - and a tough 'black' route for a big Arran day out - 32km. Route maps are available to download and use in conjuction with your own OS maps.

The trails themeselves are mainly natural existing routes tied together with newly built singletrack. Unlike the fantastic '7 Stanes' venues, you'll encounter lots of natural obstacles, mud and roots, with the longer red and black routes taking you through the beautiful village of Lamlash at the half way point for refreshments!

All 4 routes start and finish in Brodick, so leave your car on the Mainland, hop on the boat with your bike and start riding as soon as you leave the ferry terminal.

This years 3 hour Trailquest is on Sun 21st Sept during the Arran Outdoor Festival. It forms part of a fun 'Adventure Triathlon' for which there will also be prizes! The other 2 events are a 1.3 mile sea swim and a 10km off road run.
